Do you hate relationship surprises?
2012-10-30 05:39:00
by Jo Usmar
Do you hate relationship surprises?A new survey of 2000 women by British Airways reckons three out of five women hate surprises while a third would HATE it if their partner whisked them off for a spontaneous mini break. To these women I say: ARE YOU MENTAL?
First things first. What’s with the casual bandying around of the word ‘hate’? How can you ‘hate’ a surprise? Unless it’s of the ‘I’ve been cheating on you with a topless landscape gardener’ variety, of course. Let’s be realistic – the most common surprise in a relationship when you’ve been together for a few years is if you remember to take the kitchen bin out before it starts smelling like trench foot. ‘Surprise! I took the bin out before it started smelling like trench foot!’ ‘You did what? I HATE that surprise!’
I think if you hate surprises you’re a miserable git. Of course it depends on the nature of the surprise, but most of the time a bit of spontaneity is amazing. ‘You bought the dinner!’ ‘You laughed at my joke!’ And that’s before you get onto actual treats. If your bloke buys you a surprise dinner at a posh restaurant then clearly that’s ace. No hatred there. If he buys you a nice frock which you hate, just wear it once, hide it and then exchange it for something else when he’s not looking. No hatred there. And if he books you a surprise mini break GO AND HAVE A GOOD TIME AND STOP BEING SUCH A GRINCH.
The biggest reason the survey listed for people HATING surprise holidays was because they needed preparation time to get waxed and preened and plucked. Fair enough. BUT what kind of madman wouldn’t know this? What kind of lunatic wouldn’t at least give you a wink, wink, nudge nudge ‘keep next weekend free’ warning?
The survey included a quote from a lady who said her boyfriend surprised her with a trip to Morocco. Nice. He packed all her stuff for her. Not nice. And he inevitably forgot her hair straighteners. Surprise, surprise, she had a rubbish time. I once forgot my hair straighteners on a camping trip and wanted to kill myself and everyone in the camp. Mainly because I HATE camping, but also because my hair kept trying to launch itself off my head and leave while I was pretending to be having a good time. So yeah, I can sympathise, but then what kind of boyfriend would EVER think packing for you is a good idea? EVER? Why didn’t he ask one of her friends to do it? Or say ‘This is very secret squirrel and DON’T ASK ANTHING ELSE but can you pack a bag as if we’re going on holiday?’ Yeah there wouldn’t be such a big reveal, but you’d still be surprised if it turned out you actually weren’t going on a holiday and he just wanted more closet room. But at least you’d have your hair straighteners.

YOUR DREAMS HAPPEN from an obsession
obsession is too strong at times like a double-edged sword. On the one hand it can be very useful, on the other hand it can also invite disaster. However, when coupled with the seriousness that nurtured early on, obsession will be the energy to realize almost any dream. And, itulahyang felt and lived by Elon Musk. A so-called internet entrepreneur, who from the beginning said that his obsession is only related to three things: the internet, clean energy, and aerospace.
births Pretoria South Africa this June 28, 1971, since such small indeed have found a way of life that craved. His father was an engineer who had inspired him to go into the field of information technology childhood. Imagine, when he was 10 years old, he had already bought his own computer. And, if his peers as a means of making computer-especially playing games -he was actually trying to tamper with the computer to create the game . Two years, Musk autodidact learning how to program computers. With perseverance, he managed to create a game about space that is named Blastar . Uniquely, the game managed to sell for U.S. $ 500. This is probably a combination of the greatness that was nurtured early in life Musk, learning perseverance, willingness to innovate, and the foresight of running a business.
Upon graduating high school, Pretoria Boys High School, Musk chose to immigrate to Canada. He did it because he did not want her compulsory military service in South Africa at that time was still thick with the issue of racist Apartheid. "I did not refuse to serve the country, but if I just go into the military to suppress black people, I guess that's not what I was looking for," he said at the time. "I want to go to America where many great things possible to create."
In Canada, Musk first came to Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. By working part-time, Musk tried to meet their needs. He lived only denganUS $ 1 per day. But fate soon changed when he received a prestigious scholarship from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business. "The cost of college is very expensive," he said. "Fortunately, they give scholarships ... so I am just looking for money to cover living expenses, books, etc., with my work."
After receiving his degree, he continued school there for a degree in physics again. After graduating, in 1995, Musk accepted into the graduate program of high-energy physics at Stanford University. However, at that time the internet was starting to boom . Therefore, only two days to join the Ph.D. program, he decided it was not the look for her. Musk had an idea to create a company because he expects the title of the school is not going to make it achieve its goals. http://astore.amazon.com/storesaleandb-20
With a huge interest in the world of the Internet and the ability to adapt quickly to new technologies, he also founded Zip2 Corporation engaged in the provision of software to help publishing media via online . Unmitigated, with the concept, he quickly got contracts with two major American newspapers, the New York Times and Chicago Tribune to help the media publishing them in cyberspace.
effort was escorted into entrepreneurs in the Internet field at the age of 24 years. Although quite successful, he felt compelled to continue to grow. Therefore, it remains a simple life in order to take advantage of the benefits for business development. He called himself at that time chose to sleep on the couch office and bath in a public bathroom. "It was cheaper than having to rent an apartment," he said.
currently growing, Zip2 also need funds to continue playing. Because of that, he was "forced" to invite investors to fund its business rate. Portions of ownership was reduced. However, with the development of an ongoing, Zip2 successfully transformed into "honey" which continues to attract large companies to invest. Finally, in 1999, bought Zip2 Compaq Computer Corporation for U.S. $ 307 million, which at that time was to purchase an internet based company in the world.
advantages gained from the results of the transaction, Musk then founded another company, X.com, a company for facilitate payments and transactions that occur in the world online . The company is growing up and then managed to acquire similar companies, Confinity. Through this company, growing money transfer system through the internet known as PayPal. Musk referred to what he later developed further as a transaction needs of future P2P or person to person .
Again this foresight of what was to become an obsession Musk on the Internet, which presents something beneficial to the people and also bring many benefits for him. In his hands, a PayPal payment media on the internet most trusted and most widely used for different types of transactions. When growing, PayPal registered in the stock and get impressive results when IPO shares in February 2002. Due to growing, eBay, too "tempting" and eventually bought PayPal shares worth U.S. $ 1.5 billion.
Anyway, Elon Musk succeeded in realizing various armed obsession with faith, persistence, and tremendous innovation. Now, to realize other obsession, she gave birth to the next venture, SpaceX engaged in the development of space transportation, and Tesla Motors to develop electric cars energy efficient. "I'm just doing what I love, and this is an opportunity to fulfill a dream," he said. Let's wait, what other innovations are going to do to create a better world.
WHAT DO YOU WORK
Sometimes a lot of people do not know what they are looking for when at 7 am leave for work and return home at 7 pm or maybe more nights. Imagine 12 hours in one day, which means half of your day is spent on something that is not known exactly what to look for in a job. So it's no wonder that we often hear employees complain bored, tired, depressed, and frustrated, because in principle they have not been clearly defined exactly what they are looking for in a job. When someone has a clear goal in his life, he knows exactly what who want to find, and work becomes a tool to achieve what the mission of his life, that's where the enthusiasm, positive energy will appear . I've talked with one of the drug salesman who was in her 30s. He was riding a motorcycle to the hospital, pharmacies, and clinics to sell. A job is not easy because he had prepared hot and rain in the middle of the road. I asked the salesman is, What makes you so excited to undergo all this, and did not seem to complain and exhausted face. The answer is very simple, "I do this to educate my children, and I love doing it all. This is a mandate and I will do the best for my family, and should not disappoint them." This answer made me learn that one must interpret not a job solely for the money, but there are things more precious behind it all . Ironically many employees sit in an air conditioned room, sometimes still managed to surf ria, and still complain about his job, while there are individuals who are incredible out there who work hard for a positive contribution to the company. I learned a lot for a little over 8 years of struggling in the world of training and development for many people. I find that motivation at work is diverse. There is work for money, nothing is working for the development of self, others work for a promotion, those who work for a prestige, adalagi who works as a cliche that experience. All fine, and returned to the private individual, what you'd look for in a job. http://astore.amazon.com/storesaleandb-20
How long have you been working? What have you learned? Do you feel any self-development? Or do you feel that you are getting grow intellectually? Ask it into you every masing.Esensi of work not only meet what is required by your employer, but on the other hand one must be able to sense a particular self-development of the intellectual . Do not underestimate this aspect, for many years you work if you do not have a growth then there is no essential thing that you get for your personal. Indeed, as a professional, you have to help the company grow to be better, but do not forget yourself too must grow. Employees are not robots. So much potential to grow within an employee. Do not waste it all. Compensation Speaking of payment, it is sometimes blinding employees. No one ever said not to work solely for the money, but everything we need money. Sometimes, many are asking me, "How much salary should I ask the company?" My answer is always simple, "Do you think, like the ability you paid how much?" Not everyone is working as a compensation. Many friends and loved ones I choose to develop their potential career and not as tempted as salary, but saw a greater opportunity to maximize her. There is also a blind eye to personal growth , but rather prefer to see what he received every end of the month as promised in advance to pay an attractive lure. So intellectual growth first, compensation first, or both go hand in hand? Certainly a good compensation is also motivation for an employee, but without the accompaniment of personal growth , the existing compensation may be less meaningful to the employee . All returned to the private individual. Which makes a runner so excited to run in the track, because he knew what it ran. That makes a driver speeding, because he knew what it drove at high speed, which is to be a winner. Do you already know what you come up in the morning and work in the office? Do not waste your life for something you did not know exactly what you're looking for! Define start now. Arrange the blueprint of your life and your career.
